Jennifer, Coordinator of OT/PT services at Lifetime Assistance Receives has accomplished many things.  "Jennifer set up templates for all standard protocols related to OT and PT.  She has a consistent method to document instructions and information related to equipment and mobility which is essential to functioning in the efficient manor required for our department.

Jennifer heads the safe patient handling committee with Michelle Rugaber. The committee meets quarterly and reviews all staff injuries related to mobility and equipment. The committee looks at preventing repeating injuries and following up with the site that the incident had occurred. Our train the trainer program nominates a staff member who regularly uses lift equipment to train staff at their site. The trainers attend a 3 hour class reviewing the SPH law and all lift

equipment. Following the class, a member of the OT/PT department works one on one to certify the staff member to designate them to be a trainer with the equipment at the house. All of our designated trainers attend an annual train the trainer recertification class. The class reviews hot topics on injuries or near misses. Jennifer is a leader in our safe patient handling initiative across our agency.  She got involved in the purchasing of new vans after there was an increase with van injuries. In order to learn about new technology offered an in-service at Autocrafting (wheelchair adaptive vans vendor) was arranged.

She is working on an initiative with several U of R students to improve certain aspects of daily living for a few of our residents that have significant deficits to access daily needs. Jennifer is present for support when any of the clinical teams need insight or instruction.  She is efficient with time-lines and projects and sets high standards for everyone working beside her. Jen is clearly passionate about her field, and her energy and drive make her an invaluable asset to the LAI team."
