Welcome to the 11thth Annual Safe Patient Handling Conference. Thank you to those vendors who helped make the 2018 conference a huge success. Last year’s conference had over 300 attendees in attendance. We expect to see similar numbers this year!  We have been asked by workers and large healthcare agencies to bring the conference to Downstate New York so that us what we have done.  To make it affordable to all, the conference will be a full day event with ample vendor time built into the agenda.

The popularity of this conference is largely due to the hands-on, interactive learning experience provided. As always, we have listened to feedback from past conference attendees. They asked for more time learning new SPH strategies and the equipment needed to create a safe environment for patients and healthcare workers. Your participation makes this possible!
Conference attendees will register in one of three tracks.
Track 1 – Acute Care
Track 2 – Long Term Care/Sub-Acute Rehab
Track 3 – Caring for People with Developmental Disabilities or Mental Health Disorders
We need a wide variety of equipment to do this since each track will rotate through three different “equipment labs”.
Early registration is suggested since equipment will be selected early and only from those vendors registered for the conference.  This year we have limited vendor space available.  Don't miss the opportunity to have your equipment on display.

Our goal is for learners in each track to be able to assess and improve their facility’s Safe Patient Handling program with the aid of the instructors, other attendees and vendors like you.
As you know, the facilities covered by NYS’s SPH legislation are all hospitals, nursing homes, diagnostic treatment centers and clinics licensed under Article 28 of the Public Health Law. It also includes state operated group homes, healthcare units in prisons, and OCFS facilities. You can expect to see representatives from each of these sectors. This conference is a wonderful opportunity to showcase your latest equipment along with a chance to see what health professionals are looking for.  Since we have not been in downstate NY in many years, you can expect to see new faces and representatives from many large healthcare facilities.
Apply early to have your equipment assessed for use in the hands-on sessions and to qualify for the early registration discount.
